The Sspitfires will begin their season with the Port Philip Junior Basketball Competition in March.
Any short statured males or females over the age of 13 who are interested in playing basketball with the Sspitfires in their 2009 season, please contact Meredith Tripp on (03) 9772 3226. |
The 2009 SSPA Victorian Branch Grand Gala Dinner will be dedicated to the Australian World Dwarf Games team. The night will include a full 3 course meal, Australian uniform presentations, our infamous auction and plenty of dancing to the tunes of a DJ.
Venue: Mulgrave Country Club
Time: 6.30pm - 12.00am
Cost: $40.00 per person (children are welcome and meals are available upon request)

For the first time in the history of the World Dwarf Games, Australia will be represented in basketball, swimming, athletics, table tennis and bocce. The fifth World Dwarf Games will be held in Belfast, Ireland between 26 July and 2 August 2009. The team will depart for Belfast on Friday 24 July at 3.30pm from Melbourne Airport.
This is a most exciting opportunity for people of short stature to represent Australia and compete against others of a similar height and ability – a rare opportunity in today’s society.
